Policy Brief: The Intellectual Property Act No#2 Phor.Sor. 2558
The Intellectual Property Act No#2 Phor.Sor. 2558 took effect on August 15, 2105. The Act, which amends the Intellectual Property Right Act Phor.Sor. 2537, deals with intellectual property rights with regard to the copying or recording of a voice and/or motion picture without authorization. This type of infringement for personnel usage and benefit had been considered as illegal due to the infringement on intellectual property rights for trading purposes.

Thailand has been a party to the United Nation Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) since March 1, 2003. Consequently, the country is obligated to conform with the Convention and must be monitored by the United Nations to ensure that local law is in accordance to sustain an international standard.
