IOD luncheon 3/2015 "Meeting the Reformers: Thailand Going Forward"
Event Overview
Thailand's ongoing reform effort is gaining the attention of the general public as the positive effects become more evident. As the reforms are guiding the path for "Thailand going forward", the private sector must be prepared for the imminent changes resulting from them.
The Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD) has more than 3,000 members, comprised of corporate directors and senior management of leading companies in Thailand. The members are considered to be among the top businessmen in Thailand, who play a vital role in driving good corporate governance practices. Not only Thai executives but foreign businessmen also need to have a clear understanding about the ongoing reforms and the direction of Thailand "going forward". An accurate understanding of the planned reforms will give them confidence to conduct business in Thailand and enable them to serve as an important advocate to build confidence among the international community in the potential of "Thailand going forward".
To prepare for the changing business environment, IOD has invited foreign chambers of commerce operating in Thailand, including the American Chamber of Commerce, the Australian Chamber of Commerce, the British Chamber of Commerce and the Joint Foreign Chamber of Commerce, along with the Bangkok Post to participate in a special event based on the theme "Meeting the Reformers: Thailand Going Forward". This event will give IOD members and members of foreign chambers of commerce the opportunity to meet and learn about the direction of the planned reforms directly from the key figures behind the process to set and implement the reforms. (The event will be conducted in English).
