Symposium on Sustainable Development Lessons Learned Perspectives on a Resilient Future
In September the General Assembly of the United Nations will adopt a set of sustainable development goals (SDGs) for our global community – all companies, all governments, all NGOs, and all people. These SDGs can and should draw upon the Sufficiency Economy principles embedded in Thai Buddhist philosophy.
This year, with the funding support of the Thailand Sustainable Development Foundation and administrative support of the Sasin Center for Sustainability Management, the Caux Round Table has hosted some 19 roundtables in different cities around the world to seek comments and reflections on the proposed SDGs and the values which they reflect. The roundtable series culminates on 16 August at the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration. There, we will hold a workshop to draft a White Paper with finalized recommendations on the SDGs for the United Nations. We will present that paper to the public the following day, 17 August, at our Symposium on Sustainable Development.
On behalf of the organizers – the Caux Round Table, Thailand Sustainable Development Foundation, and Sasin Center for Sustainability Management – and our partners, who are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Thailand Development Research Institute, and the Thai Institute of Directors, we would be honored if you would join our 17 August (8.30 – 16.15 hrs. at Sasin Hall) symposium to share your reflections on sustainable development and the Thai experience. We would all value and benefit from your insights and perspectives.
Seating is limited, so it would be beneficial to go to https://17aug.eventbrite.com and register at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions, please email scsm@sasin.edu or call +66 2218 4001 to 9 (ext. 207 and 208).
