IOD Breakfast Talk 2/2016 "How increased investor interest in non-financial information is shaping the future of Sustainability Reporting"
*ขออภัยที่นั่งเต็ม*
Interest in the environmental, social and governance performance of organizations continues to rise across the investor community. This stems from a growing recognition by investors that a holistic assessment of the viability of an organization involves more than just an assessment of traditional financial information. As this interest rises, the expectations of Sustainability Reporting continue to evolve with key focus being placed on the manner in which organizations identify and manage key material sustainability risks and opportunities.
Once predominately focused on environmental matters, the content of Sustainability Reporting continues to expand, with the issues of supply chain and broader social sustainability and conduct issues receiving more attention. The uptake of the Global Reporting Initiative’s G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines continue to gain traction, as does participation in an ever expanding array of benchmarks and sustainable indices, such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. In response to these trends, an increased number of Stock Exchanges across various jurisdictions are in the midst of introducing ‘comply or explain’ Sustainability Reporting regimes.
The purpose of this panel discussion will be two-fold: firstly, to discuss key sustainability reporting trends on the horizon across the region, and secondly, to explore how organizations can tailor their Sustainability Reports to meet the increasing information needs of the investor community.
