How boards engage with cyber issues and Cyber in the Boardroom
Cyber attacks have begun to dominate the news and has grown to represent a major risk to business. Boards are taking responsibility for providing leadership and driving the necessary security culture, while simultaneously trying to understand the consequences of a major cyber attack on their firm, and ensure they are well prepared to deal with those scenarios. Cyber is not a technology issue, it has become a business issue – with firms facing a range of increasingly sophisticated attackers ranging from hackers, to transnational organised crime and state espionage organisations. David Ferbrache, the CTO for Cyber in KPMG UK (and previous head of cyber security for the UK Ministry of Defence), will share his experiences of working with boards and executives to help them understand the threat of cyber attack and ensure their firms are well positioned to manage the consequences.
